This whisk is designed by me and is inspired by a lovely mid-century whisk I came across when I first began baking with sourdough.
Our handmade whisk is intended to become an heirloom piece and it is designed to be solid & sturdy without being unnecessarily heavy or bulky. It also has a unique depth to its steel spiral - meaning that our whisk isn’t flattened out like most dough hooks on the market. Instead, the uncommon depth of our whisk’s stainless steel spirals (the slight space in between the metal bits) makes for an exceptionally graceful stir. The depth of the steel spirals quickly homogenises mixtures without over-mixing, which means you can avoid unwanted gluten development / an overly tough final product. As a bonus, its depth means there are no directly overlapping rings which also makes it very easy to clean.
All FloatyGoat wooden utensils are designed by me and lovingly handmade here in Yorkshire by just 2 hands: my business partner Zach at The Retuned Wood Company. Zach started his woodworking career as a guitar builder and then founded his own business creating a variety of functional wooden works of art - from furniture to kitchen tools.
Each of our items is made with sustainably sourced timber and ultra durable stainless steel from Sheffield. And the whisk also features a cuff made from anodized brass which looks like copper but will not tarnish.
At 13 inches long, it’s not too big or too small and easy to maneuver with its smooth wooden dowel.
This dough hook is great for all recipes requiring thorough mixing. Lightweight & efficient, it mixes the stickiest of doughs and can help you quickly blend and fold almost any ingredient by hand. Perfect for everything from pizza, pie crust, pastas, pastries, or artisan breads and biscuits.

*For best results, clean with simply a wet cloth or hand rinse with lukewarm water. Gently hand wash with soap only when necessary. Do not put in the dishwasher.
Because this product is handmade and not produced in a factory, we do not use harmful sealants. This product is a natural wood product and does require some minor maintenance over time. Apply some food-grade oil to the wood from time to time to help protect it and keep it looking its best!
